What Is an RV Safety Systems Inspection?

This inspection is a focused checkup of all the systems designed to prevent fires, detect dangerous gases, and help you exit safely in an emergency.

We don’t just look at comfort features—we verify the equipment that could save lives.

What We Inspect

Depending on your RV type, a Safety Systems Inspection may include:

Fire Protection & Alarms

  • Smoke alarms: test function and battery condition

  • Carbon monoxide (CO) detectors: test and age check

  • LP gas detectors: test and age check

  • Fire extinguishers: presence, type, mounting, and inspection tag/date

LP Gas (Propane) Safety

  • Visual inspection of LP tanks and mounting

  • Regulator condition and date codes

  • LP hoses and pigtails for cracking, rubbing, or damage

  • LP system leak test (if included in package)

  • Appliance LP connections checked for visible issues

Emergency Exits & Egress

  • Emergency exit windows: open/close test and seals

  • Emergency exit labels and operation instructions

  • Interior pathways: clear access to exits

Electrical Safety Checks

  • GFCI outlets: test and verify trip/reset

  • Visible wiring in accessible areas for damage, overheating, or DIY hazards

  • Power cord and plug condition (burn marks, loose blades, etc.)

Other Safety Items

  • Entry steps and grab handles (stability and condition)

  • Exterior lighting (running, brake, turn, marker lights)

  • Interior lighting in key areas (stairs, entry, pathways)

 

This is a visual and functional inspection, not a full tear-down. Any issues found will be documented and explained so you can decide on repairs.
